Gdansk Venture Day
About The Event
Venture Day 2016 is already the fourth edition of this exceptional event aimed at creating a unique space for exchanging information, sharing experience and building relations between people involved in innovation – representatives of VC, CVC and private equity funds, employees of Research&Development departments and facilities, entrepreneurs, scientists, startupers as well as representatives of corporations.
This event in Gdansk was founded by people from Gdansk as Gdansk is one of the most active and important startup scene in Poland. This year however we organize the Warsaw edition as well.
This year Venture Day conference consists of two separate events organized on the 17th and 18th of November in Gdańsk and the 30th of November in Warsaw.
The first event, held in the biggest business office center in northern Poland – Olivia Business Centre, will consist of the following elements:
- VIP Dinner – an evening meeting which is a perfect opportunity to talk about business, meet old friends and establish new contacts in a slightly less formal atmosphere,
- Lectures on the subjects of commercialization of innovative solutions, technology transfer and supporting innovation development in companies,
- Individual meetings between the initiators and investors arranged in the form of ‘speed dating’,
- Networking activities providing an opportunity for casual conversation, discussions and establishing new contacts.
The Warsaw edition, held in the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of Warsaw University of Technology, will mainly focus on individual meetings between the initiators and inventors organized in the reliable form of ‘speed dating’ and will also include pitches of the best project initiators as well as networking activities. The meeting in the capital of Poland is an excellent opportunity to participate in the Venture Day for all those who were unable to attend the first event in Gdańsk.
Moreover, as a part of the Venture Day in Warsaw a selected group of project initiators will take part in a training programme organized before the conference, the aim of which is to prepare them for presentations on stage (pitching) in front of the investors. The training programme will include a two-day course on preparing a professional Elevator Pitch presentation conducted by Piotr Bucki.
The key element of Venture Day are individual meetings between the project initiators and investors as well as heads of R&D departments who are looking for interesting innovative solutions. These meetings will be attended by project initiators whose submitted projects captured the investors’ attention. The individual meetings take place in a friendly and informal atmosphere, being casual coffee conversations aimed at establishing new relations and assessing the possibility of potential collaboration. All meetings within the ‘speed dating’ formula do not exceed 20 minutes and are organized according to the schedule prepared by the Organizers.
