Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG) officially opened their brand new startup incubator InnVento on Monday, 12th December. The objective of this incubator is to help young scientists and entrepreneurs from the energy sector develop their businesses at the initial stage.
The areas of interest of PGNiG include new materials and digital technologies in the natural gas value chain, environmental protection in the energy sector, new management models for distributed sources of energy, innovations in the use of natural gas and alternative energy sources.
“We look forward to receiving applications from startups that realize projects responding to technological challenges of companies in PGNiG capital group. Participants will be able to cooperate with experts from our group. The opportunity of using our resources during the project realization may be particularly interesting for young entrepreneurs and scientists,” said Łukasz Kroplewski, Vice-President of the Management Board.
InnVento is the first initiative of this type in Poland. It will offer multiple types of support: not only does PGNiG promise mentoring and coaching, it will also provide office space, access to databases, accounting support and assistance in the search for financing. Additionally, InnVento is supposed to be a perfect networking space. The whole incubator program is targeted to young scientists and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Participation in InnVento program consists of three stages: application verification, incubation and roll-out or acceleration. Chosen startups may establish full business cooperation with PGNiG after finalization of the program.
