Want to go out but struggling to find anything worthwhile? Do you always end up going to the same pub and want to break the routine? Or perhaps you’re looking for an interesting concert or a sports event? Search no longer! Mateby will tell you about cool events available in your area.

The team behind Mateby are Szymon Soppa, Maciej Kozłowski and Kamil Walkowiak. They’re a group of MSc students from Poznan University of Technology and the whole idea for a startup originates from their BSc dissertation project.

“The project was the solution to our own needs. We noticed that it’s not easy to find events; Facebook allows you to only search the name of the event. We became interested in the subject and our first MVP version was created as our BSc dissertation project. Next year, the interface underwent complete remodelling and we launched the first version of our app mid-August.”

Mateby is available in entire Poland, which means no matter where you are, you’re always going to find something for yourself. No exceptions. The interface is very easy to navigate: all you need to do is to choose the city and event type you’re interested in. Then you can browse the available options. You can choose from seven available categories: clubs & pubs, concerts, sports, workshops, social, theatre and top 10. If you find something you like, you can always save it to your account and get notifications a few hours before it starts. You can also subscribe to an organiser and get notifications whenever they create a new event.

Right now they’re still bootstrapping and looking for an angel investor to help them develop the project further. They’ve got 1,000 UU weekly and they’re planning to launch their offer for organisers and start sales.
