TRA 2018
About the Event
There’s no doubt that every aspect of our lives is being “updated” by new technologies. Thus, new challenges appear, but together we can find solutions to those issues. If you’re interested in how digitisation, automatisation, and decarbonisation affects mobility and transport, Transport Research Arena 2018 (TRA 2018) is something just for you!
It will be held on April 16-19th in Vienna. TRA is the biggest conference of that kind in Europe. It was first organised in 2006, and now it takes place every two years in a different European city. This year is the 7th edition and it’s so exciting that you absolutely can’t miss it! What’s more the online registrations have been extended to April 8th. Hurry up and sign up, while the prices are still discounted!
“In order to meet the future transportation needs of urban centres, we need to organise the transport of people and goods more smartly, efficiently and sustainably. Networking, robotisation and artificial intelligence can all contribute significantly,” says Gerd Leonhard, author and CEO of The Futures Agency, who will give the opening speech at the conference.
TRA 2018 is organised by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology in cooperation with the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and AustriaTech, among others.
This year, the motto of the conference is: “A digital era for transport – solutions for society, economy and environment”. More than 3,000 experts from all over the world will come together to discuss the latest developments in mobility, logistics, and industrial production. You’d better stock up on snacks because it’s going to be really busy! The conference will cover all modes of transport: road, rail, waterborne and aviation. There are over 600 lectures and poster presentations scheduled for just three days. The participants can also visit several exhibition and interaction areas, which invite them to experience the latest research results and developments.
The presentations will be given in several formats. Plenary sessions will be dedicated to political topics, while strategic sessions will address major innovation fields and industrial key issues. During scientific/technical sessions you can listen to papers presented for review. There’ll also be the invited sessions which give scientists and other professionals an opportunity to demonstrate their research to the participants. Technical Tours sound really exciting, too. They will cover a wide range of subjects from research in the mobility sector to smart urban mobility, as well as aviation and tunnel construction.
Wow, that’s a lot to choose from. Good luck and remember to register here!
