Marek Woźniak

Local government worker for three decades. In 2005, he became the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, a position he has held continuously for five terms.
Since February 2011, Vice President of the Board of the Union of Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland, in January 2019 he was elected a member of the Board of the Union.
Since February 2006, Marshal Woźniak has been a member of the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels. He participates in the work of two committees: EU Territorial Cohesion and Budget (COTER) and Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs (CIVEX).
In April 2008, he became the Head of the Polish delegation to the European Committee of the Regions, he was also elected as Vice-Chairman and member of the Bureau of the European Committee of the Regions, which he has held ever since.
From 2010 to 2020, he was Vice-Chairman of the European People's Party (EPP) Group in the European Committee of the Regions, and is currently a member of the Group's Bureau.
Fascinated by the regional history, ambassador of the legendary diligence of Wielkopolska, enthusiastic about the opportunities offered by the participation in the European Union to Poland and Wielkopolska. As the region's host, he points with satisfaction to the steady, dynamic development of Wielkopolska, visible not only through high positions in statistics and rankings, but also manifesting itself in the satisfaction of the voivodeship's residents. Being the initiator of the Wielkopolska Hydrogen Valley, he emphasizes that Wielkopolska wants to be in the avant-garde of the European Green Deal.
For his public activities he has been awarded, among others, the "Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta" and the "Golden Cross of Merit" by the President of the Republic of Poland.
