Emilia Kina
.
Emilia Kina graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2015. In her work she explores primarily the issue of the veil, in relation to the Renaissance understanding of the painting as a window on the world. In her art, the Albertine window becomes a painting in itself, a mimetic form showing the world obscured by the delicate matter of the canvas. Thus the artist balances between imitation of reality and abstract form. Emilia Kina often gives her works three-dimensional forms through sculptural gestures shaping the canvas. The paintings take on an object-like character or grow into para-scenographic installations.
