Chief Information Officer
Tomasz Motyl serves as Aion Bank’s Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for the delivery of the company’s technology and information across all its touchpoints. He played an integral part in transforming the legacy Banca Monte Paschi Belgio into the digital, mobile-first bank Aion is today. Prior to Aion Bank, Tomasz was Head of Development at Vodeno, a new cloud banking platform.
Tomasz also spent more than 10 years at Alior Bank, most recently as Chief Innovation Officer. He was responsible for the Bank’s Innovation LAB, a dedicated R&D path for new projects, cooperation with start-ups and fintech companies and new business opportunities. Tomasz’s previous roles at Alior included heading the Development Area for Big Data and CRM, initially starting as IT Director working on the creation of a new, modern IT platform for the Bank. In addition to his responsibilities at Alior Bank, Tomasz served as Deputy Director for the sub brand “T-Mobile Banking Service, delivered by Alior Bank” to supervise delivery of the dedicated IT financial platform for the mobile operator.
Tomasz held senior technology roles at Bank BPH and Bank Przemysłowo-Handlowy (the predecessor of Bank BPH). As Deputy Director at Bank BPH, Tomasz supervised the IT Department's development work on its central core banking system, transactional systems, middleware integration platform and groupware systems. At Bank Przemysłowo-Handlowy, Tomasz served as Chief of the Application Implementation Team. He also supervised and implemented various IT projects, including architecture, new application ideas and banking process enhancements.
Tomasz holds an Msc of Science in Automatics and Robotics from the AGH University of Science and Technology and an MBA from Lincoln International Business School. He is also an alumni of the Advanced Management Program from IESE Business School and holds an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Sloan School of Management.
