Piotr Wierzbiński
BIO
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Medical Doctor Piotr Wierzbiński is a graduate with honors of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Łódź, Poland. From 2006 to 2014 he held the position of assistant in the Clinic of Adult
Psychiatry of the Medical University of Łódź, Poland. Currently, Piotr maintains
a private medical practice. He is also a member of the Polish Psychiatrists’
Association and a member of International Society for Sports Psychiatry.
Piotr relentlessly continues to develop his research work by actively participating in numerous conferences nationally and internationally as a speaker. He is
the author of over 70 medical publications including those concerning panels on epi- demiology and pharmacotherapy in psychiatry, sports psychiatry, on suicide, and on the overlapping fields of somatic medicine and psychiatry. For years
he has been nationally involved in providing training for psychiatrists
and other specialists, on the subjects of epidemiology, diagnostics
and pharmacological treatment of psychiatric disorders. Piotr is also
the co-author of the books titled Depresja 2016 (Depression 2016), Depresja 2017 (Depression 2017), and Farmakoterapia w Psychiatrii Ambulatoryjnej
(The Pharmacotherapy in In-patient Care Psychiatry). He has co-written
the monograph called Kompendium kwetiapiny part. I and part II, PZWL 2017, 2019 (Compendium on Quetiapine) and Doping w sporcie, PZWL 2019 (Doping in sport). Within his research development he participated in internship at the Department of Mental Health, University of Siena School of Medicine, Italy.
Piotr’s main research interests lie in the fields of pharmacotherapy of psychiatric di- sorders, treatment resistance, drug interactions, adversary effects of treatment, overlap between psychiatry and somatic medicine, suicide, and sports psychiatry. cardiology.
In his free time, Piotr is an avid sportsman, especially a basketball player.
He is the multiple-times participant and medalist of the Polish National
Medical Schools Championships and the Polish National Medical Championships and a co-organizer of the Polish National Medical Doctors Championships.
