Was born in Kraków in 1972 and continues to live there with his family. He was personal secretary to poet Wisława Szymborska and currently manages her Foundation. Rusinek works at the Department of Polish language at the Jagellonian University in Kraków, where he teaches courses in literary theory, translation theory and creative writing. He also translates from English, writes books for children and adults, or creates poetry or song lyrics. Michał Rusinek is also a celebrated columnist, writing articles on books and language.
