Roy Perticucci
CEO of Allegro
Roy’s experience in retail and e-commerce is almost the same age as Allegro itself – the largest e-commerce player of European origin which he now proudly leads. Building on his two-decade-long track record of guiding and building businesses internationally, Roy arrived in Allegro in 2022 at a time of great changes for both the e-commerce market and the company itself. Under his leadership, Poland’s most popular online shopping platform – already a byword for convenient and affordable e-shopping on home turf – is now moving beyond Poland. Thanks to the purchase of a group of well-established Eastern European e-commerce brands, Allegro widened its geographical footprint to six countries across Central and Eastern Europe, and the launch of the Allegro.cz platform in Czechia is planned as the first step in expanding the group’s successful marketplace model internationally. In Roy’s own words: “Allegro wants to be ready when the macro situation eventually improves, leveraging its know-how to build and scale a profitable marketplace in the region.”
Before joining Allegro, Roy led the European Operations/Customer Fulfillment at Amazon between 2013-2020, while simultaneously holding the same responsibility for North America for some time. Earlier on, he held senior roles at other large retailers including Ahold (Albert.nl), Dixon’s and Tesco across Europe. As Development Director and later Operations Director at Tesco.com, he oversaw the development of the world’s largest Grocery Homeshopping business during its period of rapid growth. Roy’s contributions included the launch of the company’s first “dark store” and the Wine Warehouse as well as the Tesco.net ISP. He began his career as a software developer at Accenture in Milan, and later as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Munich.
