Dr Piotr Bodył Szymala is a legal counsel, he has been working in the banking sector since 1994. He held various positions in Santander Bank Polska, currently Legal & Regulatory Counsellor to the President of the Management Board.

Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. He graduated from the School of European Integration organised in cooperation with Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck in Austria and was a scholarship holder at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. He was also a scholarship holder of the T.M.C. Asser Instituut – Institute for Private and Public International Law, International Commercial Arbitration and European Law in The Hague, the Netherlands.

He has published about 50 scientific and popular articles; he holds a doctorate in political science, but has made business law, the law of financial institutions (banks), including consumer regulation, his field of interest.

He is married and has three children.
