Doctor of Laws from the University of Warsaw. In the late 1980s, as a Fullbright scholar, he studied at the Business School of Columbia University in New York.

He headed the management board of Bank Handlowy S.A. for 13 years. From 2003 to 2006, he served as Chairman of the Management Board of PZU Group. From 2006 to 2010, he worked at J.P. Morgan in London, where from 2007 he was Managing Director of J.P. Morgan investment bank for Central and Eastern Europe.

Cezary Stypułkowski was a member of the international advisory board of Deutsche Bank’s management board, the international advisory board of INSEAD, and the Geneva Association. Since 2012, he has been co-chairman of the Emerging Markets Advisory Council of the IIF in Washington DC.
