Boris Marte
Boris Marte has been the CEO of the ERSTE Foundation since October 2021. From 2012 to 2021, he served as the head of Erste HUB, the innovation center of the Erste Group. In this role, he was responsible for developing several innovative projects for the Erste Group, such as the George banking platform, the Erste Financial Life Park (FLiP), and the Erste Group’s identity communication #glaubandich. In 2016, he returned to the board of the ERSTE Foundation, of which he was a member from 2008 to 2012.
Before joining the Erste Group, Boris Marte held various positions in politics, including as a member of the cabinet of the Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Science and Research (1991-1995) and as Commissioner for Culture of the City of Vienna (1997-2001). From 1998 to 2000, Boris Marte was responsible for the installation of the Holocaust Memorial in Vienna. In 1999, he published the book “Die Neue Ordnung des Politischen – Die Herausforderungen der Demokratie im 21. Jahrhundert” (Campus Verlag, Frankfurt/New York).
