BIO

Tomasz Sekielski is a journalist, reporter, documentary filmmaker, and author. From 1997 to 2006, he worked as a reporter for “Fakty TVN” and hosted the Friday edition of “Kropka nad i.” Starting in 2003, together with Andrzej Morozowski, he hosted the program “Kuluary,” the daily show “Prześwietlenie,” and “Teraz my!” on TVN. He created the program “Czarno na białym” on TVN24. From October 2012 to January 2015, he hosted morning shows on Radio Tok FM. Between January 2013 and June 2016, he collaborated with TVP, hosting his own program “Po prostu” and “Woronicza 17” on TVP Info. Sekielski contributed to magazines such as Newsweek and Wprost. In November 2018, he joined the hosting team of the “Onet Rano” program. Since June 2022, he has been the editor-in-chief of Newsweek.

Tomasz Sekielski has received numerous prestigious journalism and television awards in Poland. In 2006, he and Andrzej Morozowski were awarded the Grand Press Prize and the title of Journalist of the Year. In 2016, he won the Grand Press Award for the best TV report. He is also a recipient of the Wiktor and Telekamera awards. He has won the Andrzej Woyciechowski Award and the Mediator Award twice.

As the creator of highly discussed documentaries such as “Tylko nie mów nikomu” (Tell No One) and “Zabawa w chowanego” (Hide and Seek), addressing the issue of child sexual abuse in the Polish Catholic Church, Sekielski has been recognized for his impactful work. He received titles like Journalist of the Year 2019 in the Grand Press competition, the Polish Film Award “Orzeł,” the Newsweek Teresa Torańska Award, and the Grand Press 2019. He was featured on the Bloomberg 50 list in 2019, recognizing the most influential individuals who achieved exceptional success in areas such as business, entertainment, finance, politics, science, and technology. Sekielski has been honored with the Marek Rymuszka Honorary Award and the #AllForJan Award in the first edition of the competition organized by Ringier Axel Springer, with the final taking place in January 2020.
