Art historian, Director of the Institute of Art History at Adam Mickiewicz University. He specializes in the culture of habitation, design, German-Polish artistic-historical relations, as well as urban issues.

Author of books including: “Sołacz. Houses and People” (Poznań 2009, 2012); “In Old Grunwald. Houses and Their Inhabitants” (Poznań 2012, with A. Paradowska); and “Folk Art for Sale. Society for the Promotion of Folk Industry, Cepelia, Institute of Industrial Design” (Warsaw 2013).
