Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram

Lawyer and human rights activist. Since May 2025 Chairwoman of the Commission to clarify the mechanisms of repression against civil society and social activists in 2015-2023, established by an order of the Prime Minister of Poland.
She is involved in activities for human rights and protection of the rule of law and systemic changes in the Polish justice system. She is a co-founder of the Free Courts Foundation, which monitors and archives cases of the destruction of the tripartite division of power, the rule of law, and civic education.
She regularly participates in legislative processes in parliament as an expert and in the work of the Interdepartmental Team for the Restoration of the Rule of Law and Constitutional Order.
She appears before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights in key proceedings concerning the independence of courts and the independence of judges and other systemic violations of human rights. She is the originator and implementer of the civic action “Constitutional Week” – an educational project carried out regularly in schools throughout Poland aimed at raising awareness of the Constitution and human rights among children and young people.
Winner of the “Golden Paragraph” in the category of best lawyer in Poland, Scholarship holder of Yale University within the framework of The Maurice R. Greenberg World Fellows Program. Varsovian of the year 2024.
