PhD Katarzyna Bąkowicz, a communication and media studies scholar, is an assistant professor at SWPS University.

She is a co-founder of the Central European Digital Media Observatory, where she conducts scientific research on disinformation and implements communication projects. Additionally, she serves as an advisor to the European Fact-Checking Standards Network, is a member of the Advertising Council Board, and is a member of the Media Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

As an expert for the United Nations, she was the creator of the Ethical Communication Standard for Business. She is also a strategist and advisor for business and media communication, designing and implementing solutions in both internal and external communication areas.

Furthermore, she supports organizational image-building activities in the fields of PR and CSR. She is also an author and producer of radio and television programs in the areas of business and communication.
