Artur Olech
Board Member managing the Board’s operations while awaiting approval from the Financial Supervision Commission. He has been a manager in the financial and insurance industry for over 30 years. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and the Faculty of Finance and Banking at the Warsaw School of Economics. He also completed studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He has participated in numerous training courses for top management, including Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of Management, and Chicago GSB (Booth School of Business).
Co-creator of fintech companies. An expert in business process management. Long-time CEO of financial institutions. Since May 2020, he has been a co-founder of Trasti – an insurtech and digital insurer created in a joint venture with Triglav DD and Swiss Re, where he also served as CEO. He is connected with the insurance market both in the private and public domains.
He began his professional career during his studies in 1993, initially as a collaborator at the Social and Economic Analysis Center (CASE) foundation, where he worked on a project for the World Bank, among other things. He then took up a position as an analyst at the consulting firm PIM, dealing with financial analysis in the privatization processes of the pharmaceutical industry in Poland. During his studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 1995, he first encountered the insurance market in an international environment. This program included internships and meetings at the branches of the largest European companies operating in Vienna.
He has been associated with the Generali Group for many years, going through all career levels and various areas of responsibility, starting from the position of manager, through department director, board member, vice president, to receiving the proposal to take up the position of President of the Group in Poland in 2010. During this period, he underwent numerous specialized training sessions and was the first Pole to complete the program for top management, Value of Knowledge, within the international structures of the Generali Group. During his presidency in Poland, the Polish Generali companies were awarded twice, in 2012 and 2013, in the group for financial results and business value growth. From 2010 to 2014, he served as the leader of the multinational, multicultural, and diversified management board of the Generali Group in Poland.
In 2014, he moved to the public domain and state-owned companies. The Board of Poczta Polska Group invited him to cooperate, utilizing his experience and expertise to create and lead Postal Insurance. Within just four months of establishment and obtaining a license, the life insurance company Poczta Polska Life Insurance Company began operational activities. At the same time, his team reorganized the activities of the property insurance company – Poczta Polska Mutual Insurance Company, changing its structure and modernizing towards a multi-brand business model.
In 2016, along with a team of managers, he founded his first fintech company – hiPRO sp. z o.o. The company combines banking processes with insurance, optimizing the processes of financing insurance premiums through the integration of professional lending institutions and banks with insurance sales ecosystems and multi-agents, as well as offering tools directly to individual agents and customers.
In 2020, he founded a “digital insurer” in Poland with other managers from the banking and insurance sector – HPI GMA sp. z o.o. Based on the Freedom of Service and Triglav license, the company HPI GMA sp. z o.o. – operating under the brand Trasti, began selling motor insurance, mainly through digital channels.
He has sat on several supervisory boards in Polish financial institutions and pension funds, serving as an independent member in public sector and stock market companies. From 2017 to 2018, he served as a member of the Supervisory Board at Mabion S.A., an innovative drug manufacturer. In 2016, he joined the Supervisory Board of Ciech S.A., where he still serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
In recent years, he has actively participated in prestigious scientific and program boards in the Polish financial market. From 2014 to 2023, he was a member of the program boards of the FinTech Congress and Big Data Congress, which are among the largest annual conferences in the fintech sector, and served as the Chairman of the Program Board of the Insurance Forum, the largest commercial conference in the insurance market.
In March 2023, he was invited to the Program Board of EKF Insurance, a conference organized as part of the prestigious European Financial Congress. He serves as a member of the Leaders of the World of Banking and Insurance, which awards annual prizes to the best banks and insurance companies.
