Andrzej Burliga graduated from the Faculty of Theoretical Mathematics at the University of Wrocław.
He completed training courses in the area of general management and risk management, including the INSEAD International Executives Development Programme and LMC Consulting – Lilley Moncrieff Taylor. He is a member of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA).
In 2007, Andrzej became a Member of the Management Board of Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. In 2017, he was appointed Vice President of the Management Board of Bank Zachodni WBK in charge of the Risk Management Division, responsible for the day-to-day management of key risks, including credit and operational risks, across Bank Zachodni WBK Group (current name: Santander Bank Polska Group).
During his career, Andrzej built the Business Intelligence function and has been promoting it for many years. He oversees the units which implement and develop advanced data analysis and Machine Learning/ AI models. His responsibilities include fostering the data-driven culture with the use of data science and data engineering skills. Solutions created under his supervision support the entire customer experience cycle: from CRM (e.g. NPS and relationship management) through credit admission and monitoring processes and anti-fraud actions to control processes (including AML and compliance controls).
