Natalia Partyka
Polish table tennis player. Six-time Paralympic champion – from Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), London (2012) and twice from Rio (2016). Participant in the Olympic Games: in Beijing (2008), London (2012) and Rio (2016).
Born on July 27, 1989 in Gdansk, Poland. Despite her disability (she was born without a right forearm), she competes against both able-bodied and disabled athletes. Natalia Partyka and South African athlete Natalie du Toit are the only Olympians to have competed at the 2008 Beijing IO as well as the 2008 Paralympics.
*2008 Beijing: table tennis, team – in Group C elim. (4 teams), the Polish women won 3:1 (1:3, 3:0, 3:2, 3:0) against Germany and lost 0:3 (0:3, 2:3, 0:3) against Hong Kong and 2:3 (2:3, 0:3, 3:1, 3:1, 2:3) against Romania, taking 3rd place with 1 win, being eliminated from the tournament, placing 9th-16th. (led by China). Partners were Q. Li and J. Xu.
*2012 London: table tennis, singles – in the 1st round she drew a free draw, in the 2nd round she defeated M. Skov (Denmark), in the 1/16th final she lost to L. Jie (the Netherlands), cleared from the tournament, placing 17-32. (zw. X. Li, China); team tournament – in 1/8 final Polish women lost 1:3 to Singapore, cleared from the tournament, placing 9-16. (China: N. Ding, Y. Guo and X. Li). Partners were Q. Li and K. Grzybowska.
*2016 Rio de Janeiro: table tennis, team – Poland’s women lost 0:3 in the qualifying round to Japan, crashing out of the tournament. In the end, they took 12th place. The Chinese women won, ahead of the Japanese and German women. The partners were Q. Li and K. Grzybowska.
