Monika Horna-Cieślak
Lawyer, current Ombudsman for Children.
Provides legal assistance to the youngest people experiencing psychological, physical and sexual violence. In her activities on behalf of children, she undertakes a wide range of activities, including legislation, training, and coordinates educational projects. She is the author of publications and studies on the participation of the youngest in legal procedures.
She is involved in promoting the idea of child-friendly justice. She is the winner of the “Rising Stars – Leaders of Tomorrow 2019” competition and the 1st honorable mention in the “Lawyer Pro Bono 2019” competition. She was a member of the Human Rights Commission at the Supreme Bar Council, Chair of the Children’s Rights Section and a member of the Commission for Cooperation with the Courts at the District Bar Council in Warsaw, as well as a member of the Team for the Prevention of Crimes against Sexual Freedom and Vice against Minors at the Ministry of Justice.
