Scott Crowder

Scott Crowder is currently Vice President, IBM Quantum where he is responsible for the commercialization of quantum computing. IBM Quantum has the dual mission of bringing useful quantum computing to the world and making the world quantum safe. Prior to his current role, Scott served as the Chief Technical Officer for IBM Systems and as the Vice President of Technical Strategy for IBM, defining the cross-IBM technical strategy for IT infrastructure, analytics and cloud services.
Earlier in his career, Scott was the lead engineer on the industry’s first logic-based embedded DRAM technology before serving as the executive manager of multiple global semiconductor process development alliances. He has testified on American Leadership in Quantum Technology and on Quantum and AI Technology before U.S. House of Representatives committees. Scott received A.B./Sc.B. degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Relations from Brown University and a M.A. in Economics and M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
