
Robert Konieczny
Architect, founder of KWK Promes studio. He is the author of many outstanding buildings winning major foreign awards, which came to Poland for the first time.
His Ark in Brenna was named the best house in the world in the 2017 Wallpaper Design Awards, while the Museum of the Centre for Dialogue of Breakthroughs in Szczecin won the titles of best building in the world at the 2016 World Architecture Festival in Berlin and best public space in Europe awarded in 2016 by the CCCB in Barcelona.
Its Plato Gallery of Contemporary Art in Ostrava was named one of Europe’s five best buildings in 2024 according to the Mies van der Rohe Foundation established by the European Union.
A foreign member of the French Académie d’Architecture and the Association of Architects of the Czech Republic Obec Architektů, he is a recipient of the Prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
KWK Promes’ realizations have been nominated 14 times for the Mies van der Rohe Foundation award.
