
Myroslava Gongadze
A veteran broadcaster and award-winning journalist, Myroslava Gongadze is currently the Eastern Europe Chief at Voice of America. She covers the war in Ukraine, its impact, and European affairs for a global audience.
With a law degree from Ivan Franko National University, Gongadze was a 2019 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, a Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellow, and a Petrak Scholar at George Washington University. She has received numerous accolades for her work, including the Order of Princess Olha, a Ukrainian civil decoration honoring women of outstanding personal merit, and the 2023 Inamori Ethics Prize as an international leader whose actions and influence have greatly advanced the condition of humankind.
As an expert on Ukraine and Eastern Europe, Gongadze is frequently invited to speak at international forums on politics, democratization, and media in Ukraine. She also contributes to National Public Radio periodically and has published articles in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, and Journal of Democracy.
