BIO

French diplomat. From 2012 to 2016 accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in the Republic of Poland.

A graduate of the École des Hautes Études Commerciales, Institut d’études politiques, Institut national des Langues et Civilisations orientales, specializing in Poland, in Paris, he also holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Paris, in ethnology and in applied economics. He is a graduate of the “Henri-François d’Aguesseau” yearbook (1982) at the École Nationale d’Administration in Paris.

Now he teaches international relations at Sciences Po Paris. Previously, he served as the President of the Institut Français until 2020. He has had a distinguished diplomatic career, including positions as France’s ambassador to Singapore and Poland.

He speaks German, English, Polish and Russian. He is a university professor, author of scientific and journalistic articles, some of which have also been translated into Polish (e.g. the book Poland’s Road to Freedom. 1939-1995, Dialog Publishing House, Warsaw 1999).
