Tomasz Banasiewicz (born 1969), surgeon, MD, PhD. Currently Head of Department of General, Endocrynological Surgery and Gastrointestinal Oncology (from 2016) and Director Of Institute of Surgery Poznan University of Medical Sciences (from 2020) He specialized in abdominal surgery, inflammatory bowel diseases, hereditary GI cancers and coloproctology (EBSQ in Coloproctology 2013). President of the Polish Club of the Coloproctology (member of the European Society of Coloproctology) for 2018-2020. He is also interesting in mechanisms of wound healing and wound therapy. He was one of introducing the negative pressure wound therapy in Poland. Editor-in-Chief of the Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Journal (www.npwtj.com). Author of more than 400 publications and 1000 presentations.
