Barbara Józefik

Professor, specialist clinical psychologist, certified psychotherapist and psychotherapy supervisor of the Polish Psychiatric Association and the Polish Psychological Association, psychotherapist of the European Association for Psychotherapy.
For many years she has been the head of the Psychology and Systemic Psychotherapy Workshop at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Clinic of the Jagiellonian University CM and the Outpatient Clinic for Family Therapy at the University Hospital in Krakow.
Founder of the KONTEKST Foundation for Psychotherapy and Family Therapy in Krakow. Co-founder of the Scientific Section of Family Therapy PTP, member of international societies. Among others, American Family Therapy Academy and European Family Therapy Association, organiser of many scientific conferences and workshops.
Research and clinical interests: psychotherapy and family therapy, eating disorders, gender issues in psychotherapy, cultural and family contexts of identity construction. Author and co-author of more than 150 publications, including the monographs: Culture, Body, (in)eating. Therapy. A narrative-constructionist perspective in eating disorders (2014), Family relations in Anorexia and bulimia psychica (2006), Co-author, with Katarzyna, Sroczynska: Gender in the Cabinet.Conversations about body. gender and relationships (2024).
