BIO

Piotr Krukowski is an innovator in the field of advanced upper-limb prosthetics, personally testing new solutions on himself.

He has been deeply involved in the development and R&D of the Zeus prosthetic hand and related products from the very beginning at Aether Biomedical.

Aether Biomedical was founded with the mission of creating healthcare technology and robotics based on human-centered design. The company fosters a culture dedicated to building the next generation of bionic devices, leveraging cutting-edge biosignal processing and software integration. Following its expansion across Europe and Asia, Aether launched Zeus in the U.S. market, establishing its U.S. headquarters in Chicago, IL, where Zeus has become a bestseller.

The Zeus hand is the world’s strongest multi-articulating myoelectric prosthetic, delivering 30-40% more grip force (152 Newtons) than other options on the market. In addition to its unmatched strength, Zeus is highly durable, featuring a patent-pending impact resistance mechanism that allows the fingers to flex under impact, protecting them from breakage. It is also the first bionic hand that can be fully repaired in under 15 minutes within a workshop. With 14 customizable grip patterns and multiple control mechanisms, Zeus is designed to adapt to the individual needs of each user.

Beyond hardware, Aether is developing a digital ecosystem of mobile and software applications to enhance the patient experience through technology and data analytics. The Zeus hand is supported by advanced web-based software, enabling configuration and tracking of settings history without requiring additional downloads.

In collaboration with Superhumans Center, Aether has provided critical support to those affected by the war in Ukraine. To date, the team has visited 9 hospitals across 6 cities, fitting over 100 hands for those in need.

Today, Aether Biomedical has grown into a team of over 60 professionals and has deployed more than 700 bionic hands worldwide. The company continues to expand across multiple geographies, pushing the boundaries of bionic innovation.
