Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Polish State Railways.

Dr. Alan Beroud is a manager with many years of experience related to the rail industry, among other things. As of 2019, he served as CEO of Szybka Kolej Miejska in Warsaw, where he introduced, among other things, key programs to increase the energy efficiency of vehicles and rail infrastructure. Dr. Beroud also has extensive experience in the implementation of infrastructure investments and management of projects of strategic importance in the rail, construction and energy sectors. He has implemented and supervised international projects in global markets in these areas. In 2024, as head of the PKP Group, he was elected chairman of the International Union of Railways (UIC) – the largest rail industry organization in the world.

The CEO of PKP S.A. and the PKP Group is a graduate of law at the University of Warsaw and of power engineering at the Silesian University of Technology. He holds a doctoral degree from the Institute of Security and Informatics at the University of Krakow, an EMBA degree for the energy sector (University of Gdansk in cooperation with Aix En Provence) and a Master of Project Management from George Washington University in the USA. He has also completed training and additional courses at Harvard University, MIT and Tsinghua University.
