Maciej Kliś

BIO
A lawyer, he has been practicing law for over 23 years, and has been an attorney-at-law for 20 years.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, where he also participated in doctoral studies and taught at this university. He held scholarship at the Harvard University, a participant of many academic programs in Poland and abroad, with particular emphasis on the United States of America, including Stanford University.
During his professional career, he has appeared before courts all over the world. His academic and professional activity focused on the issues of cyber law and security of ICT networks.
For many years, he has represented clients in banking and financial matters, and has carried out audits of criminal liability of management staff. As part of representing clients in disciplinary proceedings, he has independently conducted proceedings in Poland, Switzerland and the United States of America.
He is the author of a number of academic and popular-academic publications published i.a in “Polityka” and other industrial publications. His activities are particularly focused on the sphere of criminal liability of business entities, the consequences of acting to the detriment of a legal entity and the prevention of violations of the law in the field of financial management.
He is also engaged in dealing with the issues of mobbing and discrimination in the work environment, with particular emphasis on the principles of disciplinary and criminal liability, as well as the shape and transparency of procedures related to this topic. Author of many trainings in the field of business entity law.
His non-scientific and non-professional interests are focused on active sports, including duplicate bridge, in which field he obtained the title of International Master.
