BIO

Vice-Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.

His principal responsibilities include readiness for civil resistance, mobilization, resilience to cyber threats, cyber security, crisis management, civil safety within the National Defence System, and strategic communication.

Tomas Godliauskas has held several key positions in Lithuania’s national security and defence sector. From 2023 to 2024, he served as National Security Advisor to the President of Lithuania. Earlier, he was Secretary of the National Total Defence Coordination Board (2019–2020) and Secretary of the State Defence Council (2018–2019). Between 2002 and 2018, he worked in various roles within the Lithuanian Armed Forces, including as Assistant to the Land Force Commander for Logistics, and gained international experience through multinational deployments, including to Afghanistan.

Tomas Godliauskas holds a BA in Public Administration (2002) and an MBA (2007) from the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania. He completed advanced military and operational studies at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (2017–2018), as well as tactical and logistics courses in Lithuania, the U.S., and Germany.

He is fluent in English and Russian, and is married with three children.
