Ambassador of Austria to Poland since July 2021.

He previously served as Ambassador to Malta, Deputy Head of the Austrian delegation to the OSCE, and Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York and Warsaw. He also worked as an advisor on science, arts, and culture in the Austrian Presidential Chancellery and as Deputy Ambassador in Zagreb.

He studied political science, Slavic languages, international and European law at the University of Vienna and the University of Warsaw, and completed postgraduate studies at the European University Institute in Florence. He lectures at several universities and has received numerous honors, including the Gold Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria and Polish cultural distinctions.

Stadler speaks English, French, Polish, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian/Montenegrin, and Italian.
