Member of the Polish Sejm of the 10th term for the Civic Coalition since 2023, and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy since June 2024.

Born in 1963 in Gdansk, a resident of Sopot since childhood. Doctor of economic sciences at the University of Gdansk. Graduate of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Gdansk University of Technology. Graduate of Postgraduate Studies in Local Government Law at the University of Gdansk and Management Studies at the University of Gdansk and Central Connecticut State University.

From 1990 a councilman and vice-mayor of Sopot, and from 1998-2023 Mayor of Sopot. From 1990-98 a councilor of the Gdansk Regional Assembly. From 2007 to 20011 Vice President of the Association of Polish Cities and Delegate to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at the Council of Europe, currently member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Polish Cities and Co-Chairman of the Team for Systemic Affairs of the Joint Commission of Government and Local Self-Government. Winner of, among others, the Grzegorz Palka Award, known as the local government “Oscar,” and three-time leader of Newsweek’s N15 ranking of mayors. Extraordinary member of the World Union of Home Army Soldiers, Kashubian-Pomeranian Association, lifeguard and founder of the Sopot WOPR, yacht and motorboat helmsman, ski instructor.
