Tomasz Wojdacz

Tomasz K. Wojdacz, MD, PhD, professor, is a specialist in the field of clinical epigenetics, combining scientific, teaching, and entrepreneurial activities. He obtained his doctorate in medical sciences at Aarhus University in Denmark.
Even before his doctorate, he worked as a researcher at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Australia, and after obtaining his doctorate, he conducted research at prestigious centers, including the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, and the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies, where he was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow.
He currently heads the Independent Laboratory of Clinical Epigenetics at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. He is also the founder and CEO of MethylDetect ApS and EPI-CAN Technologies sp. z.o.o., companies based on intellectual property developed by his team. He holds an MBA from Kozminski University and is the president of the International Society for Molecular and Clinical Epigenetics, of which he is a co-founder. Every year, this association organizes one of the largest international conferences in the field of epigenetic research — the Clinical Epigenetics International Conference.
The professor’s scientific activity focuses on translational cancer epigenetics, in particular on epigenetic biomarkers and their application in diagnostics and personalized treatment. He is the author of numerous publications and editor of the “Epigenetic Biomarkers” section in the journal Clinical Epigenetics. In addition to his scientific work, he actively supports the development of entrepreneurship and academic innovation, as well as the implementation of research results into clinical practice. He is also an expert in intellectual property protection strategies.
