Grzegorz Nocko

BIO
Grzegorz Nocko is Director of the Robert Bosch Academy in Berlin. Before joining the Academy, he led the Berlin Office of the Hertie Foundation, where his work focused on political communication, democracy, migration, education, and the foundation’s strategic development and public positioning.
With an academic background in the humanities and social sciences, he earned his doctorate in educational science at Technische Universität Berlin. Alongside his foundation work, he has taught and conducted research at universities, with a focus on governance, education systems, communication theory, and advisory practice.
As an author, he has published on democracy policy, civic engagement, and European service models. Recent publications include studies on the feasibility of a European civic service and on the role of civic service in strengthening social cohesion. He also co-edited the policy volume “Demokratieverstärker: 12 Monate, 21 Ideen” (Campus Verlag, 2021).
His career bridges philanthropy, politics, and education, with particular engagement in strategy and network development and in civic and political education in European and illiberal contexts. He contributes regularly to advisory boards, expert groups, and public debates on democracy, migration, and education.
He lives in Berlin.
