Estelle has dedicated her career to harnessing the power of bacteria to degrade hazardous substances, such as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances; considered to be “forever chemicals”).

She founded CellX Biosolutions AG to commercially offer eco-friendly waste management and transform pollution into a problem of the past. Prior to this, she earned her PhD in Environmental Engineering & Marine Microbiology from ETH Zurich, where she continued to scientifically work as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Innosuisse Bridge Proof of Concept Fellow.

Estelle holds a Master in Molecular Life Sciences from Université de Lausanne (UNIL, Switzerland), as part of which the research work in Marine Microbiology was done at MIT (USA) for a year. Her research and findings have been published in multiple scientific journals and recognized through numerous awards.
