
Matthew Kaminski


Matthew Kaminski is an American journalist, media executive and venture investor.
Today he advises media and other companies, and serves as Editorial Chair of the Middle East Broadcasting Networks and Editor-at-Large of The Arsenal, a new publication focused on national security and defense tech. He is a senior strategic advisor with New Vista Capital and with Evident AI Insights. Matt also writes and speaks on global affairs. He is the co-founder of POLITICO Europe, a pan-European publication created in 2014 that quickly established itself as the dominant media company in Brussels. After four years running the startup in Europe, Matt moved to Washington to become the Editor-in-Chief of POLITICO, which he led through its sale to Axel Springer and left last year. He also serves on the boards of the Partners Group (Asia), World.Minds and the Center for European Policy Analysis.
He was a foreign correspondent, opinion writer, and editor at The Wall Street Journal in Brussels, Paris and New York, and started his career at the Financial Times, reporting on the former Soviet Union. He was awarded an Overseas Press Club Prize and named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the conflict in Ukraine.
Matt was born in Warsaw, raised in the U.S. and educated at Yale. He lives in Washington with his wife and two children.
