BIO

Dr. Matthias Renz, art enthusiast, economist, doctor of archeology. Born in Munich, where he graduated from the prestigious Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. After several years spent in various countries, in 1995 he settled permanently in Poland, taking the position of commercial director of a large international construction company. As a leader of several hundred teams, he supervised large development projects and the construction of highways. In 2003, he returned to his most important passion, which is ancient art, and founded the Prima Porta Antiquities gallery in Warsaw (with a showroom in Berlin). Its goal was to open up to Polish collectors of a kaleidoscope of possibilities hidden in ancient art – on the one hand, offering beauty that soothes the mind, and on the other, investment potential. Today, she advises private individuals, strategic investors and museums on creating tailor-made art collections. Objects purchased in the gallery can be found, among others. at the National Museum in Warsaw and the National Ethnographic Museum.

Member of the Association of Polish Antiquities and Merchants (SAiMP), International Federation of Associations of Art and Antiques Traders (CINOA), Antike Kunst (Association of Friends of Classical Art). Member of Rotary and the Fellowship of Rotarians who Appreciate Cultural Heritage (F.R.A.C.H), as well as the president of RC Warsaw Wilanów International.

He is the author of about 50 articles on collecting and investing in art
