BIO

Piotr Helbich is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics and a Master of Laws from the University of Bristol (UK).
He worked at the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Economy in the Department of European Integration and International Relations. Then he started his banking career. He successfully developed it at Bank Handlowy (Citibank), where he held the positions of Product Manager in the Credit Card Marketing Department, Director of the Business Development Department and Customer Loyalty and Retention Department in the Credit Cards Division, and then Director of the Telesales Department in the Distribution Division. He was responsible for product development, implemented loyalty programs as well as customer activation and retention strategies. He also managed telesales of products for individual and business clients. Then he managed the Card Office at BPH. Since August 2014, he has been associated with PKO Bank Polski, where he first held the position of the Director of the Card and Payment Office. In this role, he was responsible for the creation and implementation of a payment strategy, including the management of payment cards, mobile payments, bill payments or other mass payments for individual clients. In July 2018, he took the position of Director of the Open Banking Office in the Strategy and Digital Transformation Division. He was responsible for creating the Bank's open banking strategy. As part of this role, he was responsible, inter alia, for adapting the bank to PSD2 requirements, including providing API of PKO Bank Polski for Third Party Providers, as well as preparing the bank to act as TPP. From July 2019, he took the role of the head of the Open Banking Formation, which, apart from the tasks previously carried out in the Open Banking Office, is also directly responsible for the development and implementation of products and services based on open banking solutions. The formation gathers employees from various disciplines, including IT and Business, and provides its solutions operating within the agile methodology.
