BIO

President of the management company of Stary Browar shopping center in Poznan, PhD in economic sciences, an expert in finance and commercial property management. She completed her master and doctoral studies at the University of Economics in Poznan. For 5 years she was a lecturer at UEP and Poznan School of Banking. At the same time she was engaged in projects related to the business environment. She worked as a financial analyst and advisor in the field of EU funds acquisition and public investment financing, and then as a certified process auditor in Bank Zachodni WBK SA.

She joined the team of Stary Browar in Poznań in 2010, initially as the Financial Director and a Member of the Board. For the last 8 years, she has independently headed the team responsible for finance, leasing, administration, marketing, and technical service of the Poznań center – one of the most unique commercial objects in Poland. Thanks to her competence, Stary Browar went smoothly through the process of change of ownership in 2015, when the DWS Grundbesitz GmbH fund bought the center from its creator, Grażyna Kulczyk.

As the leader of a company and a large team, Magdalena Kowalak combines experience, respect and empathy, and a task-oriented approach to topics. She is courageous, consistent and demanding – towards herself and others. She successfully applies the "small steps" method. At work she uses both logical thinking skills and creativity. An active practitioner and promoter of the lifelong learning idea, which she "infects" in her colleagues.
