BIO

Since 2016, she has been a member of the Executive Board of the Polish Psychiatric Association and serves as its spokesperson. For many years, she has represented Polish psychiatry in media contacts, providing numerous statements, comments, and interviews on the most current issues related to psychiatry in Poland.

She is also the Chair of the Committee for Culture and Art of the PPA and the editor of the book “Creative Psychiatrists”. Through her activities, she supports psychiatrists who are also artists in all fields of art.

Since 2022, she has been the creator and Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly “Personalized Psychiatry”. Previously, for nine years, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal “Psychiatry”.

She is the author of many scientific papers and book chapters on combining psychological knowledge with biological knowledge in understanding the causes, symptoms, and treatment of mental disorders. For many years, she has been involved in the neuropsychoanalytic movement and is a member of the International Neuropsychoanalytic Society.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, she has been involved in research and promoting contact with nature, especially birdwatching, as a method of positively influencing the mental health of communities. The book “Therapeutic Ornithology: Birds-Health-Psyche”, co-authored with Prof. P. Tryjanowski (Lanius, Poznań 2021), has attracted significant media and social interest and has opened a new chapter in the approach to birdwatching in Poland.

Since 2023, as the Chief Expert in Psychiatry at the Luxmed Harmony Academy, she coordinates and conducts training for mental health care specialists in the Harmony clinics and Luxmed Group.

She has received numerous awards, including the Prof. Stefan Leder Award presented by the Award Chapter at the request of the Psychotherapy Scientific Section Board of the PPA, the Award of the Association Actively Against Depression: “Active in the Fight Against Depression”, the award for the best article in the “Lekarz POZ/General Practitioner” magazine in 2017, the “Golden Synapse” award in the category “Meritorious for Psychiatry” granted at the request of the Executive Board of the Polish Psychiatric Association, the “Knowledge Promoter” award granted by “Puls Medycyny” in 2019, the Aurelius award in the category of Personality in 2019, and the Academy of Medicine Award from the Luxmed Group awarded by the Luxmed Group and the Medical Education Center in 2023.

She is a columnist for the psychological magazine “Sens” and is also an International Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
