Karolina Ochab
BIO
Theater and film producer. She graduated in Roman Studies from the Faculty of Neophilology at Warsaw University. Since 2000 she worked at the Rozmaitości Theater (now TR Warsaw) as a person responsible for the theater’s impresariat, which initiated the time of the theater’s trips to international festivals. In 2001 she created the first theater production department in Poland, which introduced the profession of producer to the theater.
From 2005 to 2008, she co-founded the Polish Audiovisual Publishing House (now the National Audiovisual Institute) as chief producer and curator, including the flagship series: Polish School of Documentary and Anthology of Polish Animation. In addition to publishing, she was also responsible for recording contemporary Polish theater and opera productions, including H J. Klata, Krum by K .Warlikowski, King Roger by MariuszTreliński. She also organized other cultural events, such as festivals of works by Pawel Szymanski and Jozef Robakowski. In 2007, she produced Petr Zelenka’s The Brothers Karamazov as a producer.
Since 2008 until today she has been the director of the New Theater. In addition to her managerial work, together with the artistic director she co-creates a program that is the sum of their professional experience and the search for new forms of theater. She teaches at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theater Academy in Warsaw.
