Michał Kobosko
Michał Andrzej Kobosko (born April 15, 1968) is a Polish politician, foreign policy expert with a journalism and media management background.
He graduated from SWPS University, Warsaw at the Faculty of Management in 2019.
For over 20 years, he has shaped Poland’s mediascape in various capacities. He began his career in 1997 as a finance reporter at Gazeta Wyborcza. As the editor-in-chief at Newsweek, Forbes, Bloomberg Businessweek, and other Poland-based media titles, he has been a catalyst for implementing the highest professional and ethical standards into Poland’s media. He has managed enhanced editorial teams, guiding them through the processes of mergers and restructuring, characteristic of the turbulent years in the industry.
He conducted hundreds of debates, congresses, discussion panels, and participated in the jury of many journalistic awards.
From 2013 to 2019, he was the Director of the Warsaw Office and the Senior Advisor at The Atlantic Council, a nonpartisan think-tank, and policy center based in Washington D.C. In this capacity, Michał Kobosko was responsible for the development of the Council’s operations in Central and Eastern Europe.
In 2020, he served as the Electoral Representative of the Election Committee of the independent Candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland, Szymon Hołownia. Since 2022, he has been the First Vice President of Polska 2050 Szymona Hołownia political party.
As a result of the 2023 elections, he became a member of the Sejm and the Vice Chairman of the Polska 2050 – Trzecia Droga parliamentary club. In his parliamentary work, he serves as the Chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee and the Chairman of the Delegation of the Polish Parliament to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
Michał Kobosko is a frequent contributor to Polish and international media on Polish and foreign policy issues.
