BIO

Maciej Duszczyk, Prof. at the University, is a research scientist at the Center for Migration Research and the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw. He was the former Chairperson of the University of GdaƄsk Council. From 2016 to 2020, he served as the Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation at the University of Warsaw. Between 2008 and 2011, he was a member of the strategic advisory team for Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and from 2012 to 2014, he led the substantive work of the team responsible for developing Polish migration policy in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.

From 2014 to 2015, he was a visiting professor at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg and Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. He has led grants funded by institutions such as the National Science Center and the Polish-German Foundation for Science. He has received scholarships, including the Jean Monnet Project, Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft, and the Committee for Scientific Research.

He has given guest lectures at institutions such as the University of Oxford, Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Durham University, the University of California, and the Central European University in Budapest. He collaborates with the United Nations Development Programme, the International Labour Organization, the International Organization for Migration, and the European Commission. He is a member of the Transatlantic Forum on Migration and Integration (German Marshall Fund of the United States).

Dr. Duszczyk has served as a reviewer for grants from the European Research Council, the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, and the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs.
