PhD Wojciech Woźniak, sociologist, professor at the University of Łódź, works at the Faculty of Economic and Sociological Sciences. His scientific interests include Finnish politics and socio-economic model, the relationship between sports and politics, social inequalities, and public discourse (especially phenomena of moral panic). He is the author or co-author of five books and over 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers.

In 2020, he published a book with Routledge: “Politics, Ideology and Football Fandom: The Transformation of Modern Poland” (co-authored with Radosław Kossakowski and Przemysław Nosale), and in 2022 with the Publishing House of the University of Łódź: “The State That Works: About Finnish Public Politicians”. In June of this year, a book co-edited by him (along with Radosław Kossakowski and Przemysław Nosale) will be published by Routledge: “Football, Fandom and Collective Memory: Global Perspectives”.

He is a member of the Polish and Finnish Sociological Society (Westermarck Society). He has given guest lectures at universities in Germany (Free University of Berlin, Justus Liebig University in Giessen, and the University of Göttingen), Finland (Universities in Helsinki, Turku, and Tampere), Estonia (University of Tartu), France (University Sophia Antipolis in Nice), and Czech Republic (Charles University in Prague).

During the academic year 2022/2023, he spent time working at the University of Helsinki under the Becker Scholarship of the National Agency for Academic Exchange, where he continued his research on Finnish public politicians. Currently, he is working on a book about their transformation over the past 20 years.
