Minister Adam Szłapka (born 1984, Kościan, Wielkopolska Region) has been in office since 2023 as the Minister for European Union Affairs in Donald Tusk’s third cabinet. He is a member of the Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish Parliament) of the 8th, 9th, and 10th terms (current one). In his parliamentary experience, he has been associated with the Parliamentary Committee for Secret Services and the Foreign Affairs Committee, and he has served as chairman of the Parliamentary Group on the Future of the EU.

Since 2019, Szłapka has been the Chairman of the ‘Nowoczesna’ political party, having previously served as its Secretary General since the party’s establishment in 2015. From 2011 to 2015, he worked as an expert in the Chancellery of the President of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski. He has also served as the Secretary General of the ‘Młode Centrum’ association (later known as the ‘Projekt: Polska’ association).

Szłapka co-founded the ‘Projekt: Polska’ Foundation, where he was responsible for organizing projects such as “Together 89,” which celebrated civic events of June 4, 1989, and “Solidarity Generation,” which engaged young people on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the ‘Solidarity’ Labour Union. He was also a volunteer within the ‘Youth in Action’ program promoting European integration in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2007. From 2006 to 2010, he served as a councilor and vice chairman of the Kościan city council.

Minister Szłapka is a graduate of political science and Eastern studies from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
