Andrzej Czerwiński
BIO
Andrzej Czerwiński was born on November 8, 1954 in Nowy Sącz. He holds a master’s degree in power engineering. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Automation and Electronics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
He holds a number of authorizations in management, supervision and public budgets.
He currently works for the freight transport sector, dealing with optimization of energy use.
From 2001 to 2019, he was a member of parliament for five terms. He specialized in particular in energy issues. for many years he was chairman of parliamentary teams and standing committees on energy issues.
In 2015, he became Minister of the Treasury in Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz’s cabinet. The result of the work carried out in his teams was, among other things, the building of a competitive energy market, the adoption of a long-term national energy policy, the completion of the Swinoujscie gas port and the stabilization of the situation of coal companies during the mining crisis.
He received a number of diplomas and awards, including the New Impulse Award for his work in normalizing the situation and changes in the Polish energy sector.
He was mayor of Nowy Sącz for two terms from 1994 to 2001. From 1989 to 1994 he ran his own business.
From 1979 to 1989 he worked in the professional power sector.
