Joanna Erdman
Joanna Erdman is the President of the Management Board of the Cashless Poland Foundation. From the beginning, she was a member of the Foundation’s Council and co-created the assumptions of the Cashless Poland Program. In July 2021, she joined the Board, and in September 2022, she was entrusted with leading the company and implementing a new strategy. In 2023, she was included in the ranking of the 50 most influential women in Poland.
Joanna Erdman has been in management roles for over 20 years and is actively involved in the banking and digitalization industry. She has led numerous strategic projects and collaborated with key partners, focusing on financial innovations, modern payment solutions, open banking, VAS, digital identity, behavioral biometrics, and cloud technologies.
Her banking career began at Pekao SA Group, and in 1999, she joined the BRE Bank team, co-creating and developing mBank, which now serves millions of retail clients in Poland as well as in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. For her contributions to banking, she received the M. Kopernik Medal and the Remigiusz Kaszubski Award.
For several years, she was the Chairwoman of the Bank Card Issuers Council, an advisor to the European Payment Advisory Committee, and a member of the Visa Client Council. She has been involved in joint projects within the financial sector, such as Blik and Polish API. She has been recognized as the “Most Influential Woman in the Payment Industry” and as a “Fintech Personality.”
Joanna Erdman graduated from the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź and completed postgraduate studies in “Leadership in Innovations” at the Warsaw School of Economics. She also holds an MBA from the Polish-American Management Center and the University of Maryland.
