Przemek Gdański
Przemyslaw Gdanski is heading BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. since 1 November 2017 and acts as Territory Head for all BNP Paribas Group companies in Poland.
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk and a one-year program in Banking and International Finance at Loughborough University in the UK. He completed a number of specialized managerial development programs at the world's leading business schools such as IESE Business School (Advanced Management Program), Harvard Business School, London Business School, The Haas School of Business (University of California, Berkeley), Ashridge-Hult International Business School, HEC, Columbia Business School and INSEAD.
He has over 30 years of international banking experience. He has worked in both the largest banks in Poland and abroad, since 2006 serving successively on the boards of Calyon (as CEO), BPH, Pekao SA and mBank.
From 2019, Vice President of the Lewiatan Confederation and member of the Advisory Board of the Digital University. From 2021, member of the Programme Board of the UN Global Compact Network Poland. In the same year he became a member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw and a partner of the prestigious international G100 Denim Club, an organization of leaders supporting gender parity and equality. Since 2017, Chairman of the Board of the BNP Paribas Foundation.
In 2021, awarded with the Market Visionary award during the IT@BANK conference. In 2019, awarded The CEO of the Year by The Heart Warsaw and the title of Bankowy Menedżer Roku 2018 by Gazeta Bankowa. In 2018, he was named Digital Shaper by the Digital Poland Foundation for his outstanding contribution to digital transformation.
For many years he has been a consistent patron of initiatives to promote diversity, gender equality and support the activities of entrepreneurial women. In 2018, he received the special award Male Champion of Change, Foundation of Success Written in Lipstick.
Chess player with the title of FIDE Master, years ago a member of the Polish Junior National Team, former President of the Polish Chess Federation.
