Technology transfer - fast-track innovation

Industrial Development Agency

The transfer of technology is one of the ways in which innovations can be implemented in companies. It also contributes to the reduction of time spent on research and development and limits the costs associated with those activities. It does however require absolute trust among the entities engaged in the transfer process. In order for the transfer process to prove mutually-beneficial and so the risk related to implementation is minimised – a great deal of work needs to be done prior to the signing of an agreement The Industrial Development Agency (ARP), while conducting it’s Open Innovation Network program, has gained loads of experience. This experience can prove to be valuable for companies that are looking to expand their business using, among others, technological transfer. During this workshop the process of transferring technology will be described in detail – including ways of financing that transfer using EU funds.

Design Sprint – how to quickly develop value added product?

Jakub Danecki – Research and Design Coordinator / Service Designer, BGŻ BNP Paribas
Jan Wardecki – Service Designer | UX/ Design Researcher, BGŻ BNP Paribas

After more than a year of trials, we managed to implement project sprints based on Google Ventures methodology as part of building new products and services. We have tested many approaches to user-focused design – mass training, long-term processes, short workshops, activities based on new projects and those supporting existing projects.

We would like to present our experience and show what in our opinion worked best and what gives measurable results. Design sprints combine intensive workshop work, a fast prototyping approach with the capabilities of a large, complex organization – we want to tell you about our way to the place where we are now.

Design Sprint – how to use two methods to quickly prototype digital products and assess their value, which allows different concepts to be quickly combined into a coherent product?

Jakub Danecki – Research and Design Coordinator / Service Designer, BGŻ BNP Paribas

Jan Wardecki – Service Designer | UX/ Design Researcher, BGŻ BNP Paribas

In a highly competitive single market, it is becoming harder and harder to encourage customers to take advantage of services on the basis of better financial conditions alone. Based on our experience, we see that availability, quality of interaction and fitting in with lifestyle is very often the basic selection criterion. During the workshop, we will use rapid prototyping and testing methods to create a value proposition for the customer, which will allow us to compete on quality of service and not only on price.

We want to use the cooperation with Cardiff to think about how insurance products can connect to bank services to create something that will bring added value to customers. Participants will learn how to use two methods to quickly prototype digital products and assess their value, which allows different concepts to be quickly combined into a coherent product.
